A few days in Northumberland this week, but we picked the wrong week. Last week and next week have perfect weather but we got heavy rain and poor visibility every day.......except Thursday!
So 5.20am on Thursday morning found me set up on the beach at Bambrough waiting for the sunrise. I was there early as the Beeb had told me there was a chance of the Northern Lights making an appearance. No show of lights for me though and further bad luck struck me as my remote shutter release began to fail after ten years steadfast use. Low light photography is impossible without this device but I managed to crack off a few shots before it failed altogether.
This is the best of the morning, I think, and it is now available on the website at the UK Coast page. The moon and Jupiter along with a few stars high over the castle.
