About Me
I am Dave Newton, originally from Manchester, but having spent most of my life living and working in Bolton. I am now back in Manchester and feel this is where I belong.
I have been taking photographs of the Lake District fells for as long as I can remember. I fell in love with the area as a teenager when my work took me on an Outward Bound course to Eskdale in 1972, and I have been going back ever since. I have climbed all the 214 Lakeland fells, most of them twice and several of them a dozen or more times.
I was an early adopter of digital photography and have owned a variety of such cameras over the last 20 years. I am now a Fujifilm user and have a good selection of X-System lenses with my most recent acquisition being the 100-400mm lens.
When not in the Lakes I love to photograph in and around my home city, and Salford, of course, and where ever I happen to be. You'll see that I love taking long exposures and 'blue hour' images at dusk. I hope you enjoy browsing my images.
